地球の空はガスに覆われ、太陽の光は届かず、
一日中真っ暗闇の世界になってしまいました。
それでも、人々は、真っ暗闇の中で生活をしています。
悪い事が起こり始め、悪い人も増えてきました。
The Earth’s sky was surrounded by dark clouds of gas which blocked the Sun’s rays and
kept the world in darkness throughout the day.
The Earth’s people carried out their lives in this black darkness.
Bad things started to happen and evilness spread amongst the people.
神様達は、そんな地球を心配しはじめました。
そしてまず最初に、海の神様が、
地球の人々を観察する様にと、海亀に頼みました。
毎日毎日、海から、海亀は人々を観察しました。
God started to worry this situation.
The Sea Goddess looked upon the plight of the people and
requested the sea turtles to watch over the people every day.
『海の神様、どうかお願いです。地上を明るくしてあげてください』
海亀は、海の神様に頼みました。
すると今度は、海の神様自らが、地球の真っ暗闇の世界を見にいきました。
The sea turtles returned to the Sea Goddess and asked:
“Sea Goddess, please allow the light to shine upon the land”
Hearing this plea, the Sea Goddess turned her own eyes into the darkness covering the world.
地球の情けない真っ暗な世界を見た海の神様は
『海亀よ、もうひと働きしてくれないか、天の神様のもとにいっておくれ』
と海亀に頼みました。
Sea Goddess witnessed the impenetrable darkness and asked her sea turtles:
“My sea turtle friends, please go to the God of the Sky”
するとたちまち、海亀は七色の虹に包まれてきて、天に昇っていきました。
『天の神様、地上に光を戻してあげて下さい』
海亀は、海の神様の伝言を伝えました。
The sea turtles wrapped themselves in a seven-colored rainbow and lifted themselves into the sky and
brought their Sea Goddesses’ message:
“Sky God, please make the light shine upon the Earth once more.”
